Lesson 6: Number Order and Ordinals

 

Aims:

  • Practice putting numbers 1–5 in order.
  • Introduce ordinal concepts (first through fifth).

Goals:

  • Children arrange numbers 1–5 in sequence.
  • Children use and understand ordinal words.

Objectives:

  • Put number cards in order from 1 to 5.
  • Identify and use “first,” “second,” “third,” “fourth,” and “fifth” in context.

  • Move from isolated numbers to an understanding of order and position.

  • Number recognition and counting to 5.
