Lesson 1: The First Six Months — Where Lifelong Language and Literacy Begin

Imagine this: On a quiet morning, new parents gently shake a rattle near their baby’s crib.  Their daughter, just a few weeks old, turns her head toward the sound.  Her mother smiles, softly says her name, and the baby’s eyes brighten in response.  Throughout the day, her parents talk her through feeding, changing, and bath time, sing lullabies, and show her high-contrast cards and family photos.  These simple, loving routines become daily rituals of connection and discovery, building her confidence and curiosity little by little.

These parents may not realize that every smile, every sound, and every gentle conversation helps their baby’s brain grow.  These everyday moments aren’t just sweet—they’re laying the foundation for her future language, learning, and relationships.
