Empowerment University for Children aims to enhance the learning and development of the whole child. The Emblazers group was specially created to provide resources for ages fifteen to seventeen (15-17). At this age, they have a fire inside of them, transitioning from vision to the activation of the life they want. Thus, we call them Emblazers.
Learning Basics
By this age, a lot has changed. They have completed puberty. They are more independent. They enjoy spending more time with friends than with family. They are thinking about their future beyond secondary school (high school) and taking steps to start that future. As they approach adulthood, we want to continue encouraging them to stay on the right path and provide the tools to do so. You must ask, “What is driving them?”

Spiritual Life
Whatever their passion is —helping people, creating, playing sports, etc. —God can use that passion for His glory. At age seventeen, Joseph was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. Although an enslaved person, he never let his passion and his faith in God waver. He stayed faithful to God despite his position or situation. Ultimately, God exalted him and used his faithfulness to help save the very ones who wronged him.* Daniel and his three friends, Shadrack, Meshach, and Abednego, are another example of great passion for God. No matter how much pressure these teenagers faced, they chose to live for God.** What is your child’s passion, and how can they use it to glorify God? He wants to use them.
Academic and Life Skills
For school, 15-17 year olds should focus on developing strong literacy, critical thinking, and data interpretation skills while also acquiring crucial life skills like time management, financial literacy, and effective communication to prepare for adulthood. They should also understand their own strengths and areas for growth to inform future educational and career choices.

- Strong literacy: The ability to read, understand, and apply information from texts and data is essential for all subjects.
- Critical thinking: Learn to analyze information, think independently, and deal with conflicting viewpoints.
- Self-reflection: Understand their own strengths and weaknesses to guide learning and future planning.

- Time management and organization: Use planners or calendars to manage schoolwork, appointments, and extracurriculars.
- Financial literacy: Learn to manage money, create a budget, and understand concepts like compound interest.
- Effective communication: Practice writing thank-you notes, making phone calls, and interacting with others confidently.
- Practical daily living: Learn to do laundry, follow a recipe, manage hygiene, and handle basic tasks like grocery shopping.
- Problem-solving: Develop the ability to approach and solve challenges independently.
- Preparing for the future
- Career readiness: Begin thinking about career paths and learn skills like writing a resume.
- Goal-setting: Establish goals for school and beyond, and create a plan to achieve them.
- Interpersonal skills: Manage relationships, work through conflicts, and develop empathy.

What to Expect
You will have access to more than 100 course resources, making this type of membership the most valuable and cost-effective for this age group. Resources provided for this age group are based on the usual standards, with a few advanced resources to help you determine if it is time for your child to level up. As this is a yearly membership, you will have access to any membership updates as long as you remain a member. Further, you can submit a request if you want to see more of specific resources, and we will design a resource or provide a different solution.
