Welcome to Exploring Social Studies & History
A membership community designed especially for Enlighteners (parents, guardians, and parental figures) ready to confidently guide their children’s exploration of the world through social studies and history.

What the Membership Provides

  1. Comprehensive Social Studies & History Milestone Checklists
For every stage—PreK through 12th grade—you’ll receive clear, parent-friendly checklists to help you track your child’s development in social studies and historical thinking. Each checklist is organized by age or grade, breaking down the most essential milestones into simple, manageable steps. From early awareness of self and community to advanced analysis of historical events and global issues, you’ll have a roadmap to celebrate learning at every level.
  2. Practical Tracking
Each checklist covers foundational to advanced skills—such as understanding community, geography, civics, history, culture, economics, and critical thinking—so you can easily monitor your child’s progress. Use these lists to recognize strengths, inspire curiosity, and celebrate achievements, year by year.
  3. Parent Empowerment
Every checklist is crafted so any parent or caregiver—no matter your own background in social studies or history—can confidently support your child’s learning journey. References to trusted academic standards and developmental guidelines are included throughout.
  4. Encouragement
Each checklist includes positive reminders to honor your child’s individual pace and interests, along with ideas for making history and social studies an engaging, real-life adventure.
  5. Flexible for All Ages
Whether you’re supporting a curious preschooler or a thoughtful teenager, the checklists adapt easily, making them ideal for families with children at different ages and for nurturing each learner’s unique strengths.
  6. Lifelong Social Studies: Skills Beyond High School
The membership continues beyond twelfth grade! You’ll also find resources to help young adults (ages 18+) grow their understanding of society, history, and global citizenship. Topics include:
    • Civic engagement and leadership
    • Research and analysis of current events
    • Cultural awareness and global perspectives
    • Responsible participation in community and public life
