What Is CYL Mentorship?

A CYL mentorship is a partnership that is designed to help the mentee grow personally and professionally. Once the mentor and mentee determine a set of goals, action steps, and projected outcomes, the mentor will provide guidance and support to help the mentee achieve the stated goals and outcomes, and the mentee is responsible for taking the stated steps to achieve projected outcomes.

Why Is CYL Mentorship Necessary?

The various areas of our lives intersect.  Thus, we look at how we can improve in these specific areas so you can move forward in your vision. Here are some sample questions to ask yourself to determine if CYL mentorship is necessary for your life.  Are you meditating every day to provide the calm you need to start your day right? Are you lacking confidence in a particular area which affects how people perceive you? Do you have chaotic mornings with your family, lack a cohesive schedule, carry too many responsibilities, or don’t know how to delegate for fear of others’ failures? Do you know where you want to go in your vision but lack the strategy to do it efficiently? Do you want to take your vision to the next level but don’t know how to best do it due to a lack of knowledge? These types of situations cause stress and impede your forward progress, and we want to relieve the stress. 

What Is My Role as Your Mentor?

After we determine your goals and projected outcomes, I assist you by educating you on how it is possible to achieve the projected outcomes; provide you with insights, practical steps, and feedback; and tap into relevant connections to help you best achieve. Further, I will regularly check in with you to ensure accountability standards are met, and if you are not meeting those accountability standards, assist you in addressing the underlying issue and restructuring your plan as needed.

What Is Your Role as the Mentee?

As a mentee, you are responsible for honestly expressing your challenges, being open to receiving guidance, actively participating in setting goals, determining action steps, and putting in the effort to reach your expected outcomes. You are responsible for providing feedback on what works best for you, asking questions, and requesting assistance to help you better understand difficult concepts.
